The historic Devils Canyon Ranches are being offered as a portfolio sale but may be purchased independently. The ranches lie east of Lovell, Wyoming in Bighorn County, extending to the Montana border and the Yellowtail National Park. The foothills and deeded properties ascend the northern slopes of the Bighorn Mountains and rise from 3,500 to 8,000 feet. The ranches have been the setting for many Louis Lamour novels and comprise a variety of wild and scenic resources. The highest and best use would be for a continued combination of livestock and field crop agriculture with an excellent opportunity for outdoor recreation programs such as guided permitted hunting, fishing and unlimited sightseeing trips.
The sale includes the Devils Canyon Ranch, $2,582,000 (115,995 acres), the 44 Ranch and Farms, $1,385,384 (56,590 acres), and the Elk Springs Ranch $1,050,000 (826 acres). The ranches offer a variety of irrigated ground, range land, and governmental permitted acres.
